Am I so out of touch with the current world?

Lately I've been hearing a lot of things about our modern society and I'm so disillusioned and disgusted I need a rant:

First thing- The Internet is not serious.
What is all this stuff I hear about people loosing their jobs over something on facebook? Is that fucking real? Your personal life has nothing, I repeat, NOTHING to do w/ your job performance. It is ILLEGAL to fire someone under grounds like this, right? Another thing that falls under this is internet drama. If you seriously start anything about someone moving you on their "top 8" or because of anything said on the Internet you are a fucking nerd, come outside and talk to me in the real world about serious stuff, the Internet is for fun. Facebook and Myspace are for fun. You all are being ridiculous and I don't take you seriously, sorry!

Second thing- Hugs in school.

Okay, now get this! Apparently a lot of High Schools are banning hugs. Okay, let me repeat that so it really sinks in....High Schools are banning hugs. In a world devoid of human compassion this is so far past unacceptable I have no words to describe it. There should be MORE hugs. MORE love for your fellow human beings. In fact I think it should be a rule that you should hug ten+ people a day. Who doesn't need a good hug once in a while? This is seriously the most fucked up, despicable thing I've ever heard. In a world where rape, harassment, murder and shooting off-duty cops is becoming more and more profoundly evident, the school system feels that the most prudent thing that needs to be taught to our children is that they need to stop hugging each other so damn much!

Third thing- "Drank"
Just the name alone made me feel embarrassed to hear, but get this...it is now cool (& apparently has been for a while?) for rappers to drink a concoction that is referred to as "drank." Ingredients: Cough-syrup, Sprite and pieces of Jolly Rancher candy.
Seriously. It is now considered cool to drink cough syrup, with candy in it. This is what is "cool" in our current popular culture. Are you 12 years old? What the fuck? "Yo dawg I got this really good cherry cough syrup, you know it's good cuz you gotta be 18 to buy it, now hand me my candy and soda." For real? Do you know what's hardcore? A fucking 40oz of Old English. Would you be more threatened by someone holding a 40oz of malt liquor or someone holding a Cough-Syrup-Sprite-Pussy cocktail. LOL!!! I just can't even take this seriously.

Listen up guys, and I mean seriously listen up. Our rights are being violated. This is our world, are you really going to let this fly? We are the next generation who will be running this society. We don't have to accept any of this. You perpetuate it by accepting it. Do you want your children to grow up in a world where drinking cough syrup is cool, hugs are outlawed and social networking sites are serious?
